GTA 6 arrives with just two editions: Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99. No third tier, no deluxe bundle, no early access. The real question is what the $20 gap unlocks — and whether you need it. Here's the full breakdown, confirmed by Rockstar.
Standard Edition — $79.99
The Standard includes the full game. The entire Jason-and-Lucia story, all of Leonida, the whole core experience. If you're buying GTA 6 for the campaign and open world, it's more than enough.
Key point: nothing forces you to pick Ultimate now. You can start on Standard and buy the upgrade later (more on that below).

For $20 more, the Ultimate adds a pack of exclusive content woven into the single-player campaign and unlocked chapter by chapter (nothing is dumped on you at the start). Specifically:
- Five exclusive shops (single-player): Rideout Customs, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo and One-Eyed Willie's — five locations Standard players won't see at launch.
- Exclusive vehicles, including a '95 Grotti Cheetah and a '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy.
- Exclusive weapons: the Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers (his & hers) and personalized variants of Jason's and Lucia's sidearms.
- Exclusive outfits and tattoos, plus garages (Shore Court, Paradise).
- Two mission-based extras, including a classic-car collection side mission.
This is more than a cosmetic pack: these are real locations and activities absent from the base game. Note that this splits the community — many feel this content should have been in the base game.
Is the extra $20 worth it?
Honest answer: it depends on your profile.
- You play for the story and open world → Standard is plenty. The core experience is identical.
- You're a completionist / customization fan → Ultimate adds real density (shops, vehicles, missions) from day one.
And crucially: no pressure. Rockstar confirms you can buy the Ultimate upgrade at any time after starting on Standard. Our advice: get the Standard, and upgrade later only if you find yourself missing the bonus content.
The pre-order bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack
This pack is not Ultimate-only: it's included with both editions for any purchase before November 20, 2026. It contains retro outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, a classic car ('55 Vapid Stanier), an Ocean Beach garage and a Vice City-style weapon skin. Digital buyers also get 1 month of GTA+.
⚠️ Watch the GTA+: the free month auto-renews into a paid subscription. If you only want to try it, cancel renewal as soon as you activate it.
To lock in the bonus, follow our how to pre-order GTA 6 guide.
Physical or digital: does it matter?
Either way, you download the game. The physical version mainly appeals for collecting or resale, and pre-load starts November 12.
Get ready to play at launch
Whichever edition you choose, you'll need a current-gen console. If you're not equipped yet:

console
PlayStation 5 Slim
Slimmer and lighter PS5 — the primary console for GTA 6 at launch.
And a second controller so you never have to stop (or play co-op):

controller
Sony DualSense Wireless
Adaptive triggers and haptic feedback tuned for next-gen PS5 titles.
In short
- Standard ($79.99): the full game. The best choice for most players.
- Ultimate ($99.99): + exclusive shops, vehicles, weapons and missions. Upgradeable later.
- Pre-order bonus (both editions, before Nov 20): Vintage Vice City Pack, + 1 month GTA+ on digital.
